Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department and ensure the highest standards of patient care. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing nursing operations, staff management, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical expertise, leadership experience, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of nursing staff and patient care services.
Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Manage nursing budgets, staffing, and resource allocation to maintain operational efficiency.
Foster a culture of professional development, mentorship, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and overall healthcare services.
Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards as outlined by state, federal, and accreditation organizations.
Requirements:
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or Healthcare Administration (MHA) preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably in an acute care or long-term care setting.
Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in nursing management.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Nursing Administration (NE-BC, NEA-BC, or CENP).
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and hospital management systems.
