Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team in Burlington, VT. This role is responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care, assessing patient conditions, and administering appropriate treatments. The ideal candidate will have a Vermont Respiratory Care Practitioner license, completion of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program, and current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, treat, and manage patients with respiratory disorders across various care settings.
Administer oxygen therapy, ventilator management, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient respiratory health.
Operate and maintain respiratory care equipment, ensuring proper function and patient safety.
Educate patients and families on breathing techniques, lung disease management, and home respiratory care.
Document patient care and therapy progress in electronic medical records (EMR).

Requirements:

Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Vermont (must obtain before start date).
Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
For new graduates: Must obtain RRT certification from NBRC within one year of hire.
Seasoned therapists must already hold RRT status.
Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field preferred.
