Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Risk Management Director to oversee patient safety, risk assessment, and compliance initiatives within a dynamic healthcare environment. This leadership role is responsible for investigating claims, implementing risk reduction strategies, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare risk management, leadership experience, and expertise in regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee risk assessment, claim investigations, and patient safety programs.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to improve risk mitigation strategies.
Manage the Patient Safety Council and track action plans for risk reduction.
Collaborate with department directors and executive leadership to implement corporate and facility-wide risk management initiatives.
Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, DHS, and other regulatory standards.
Utilize data analysis and reporting to identify trends and improve patient safety.
Educate staff on risk management policies, procedures, and compliance best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
2-5 years of experience in healthcare risk management.
Current RN license in Nevada required if applicant is a Registered Nurse.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and CMS/DHS regulations.
Experience with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
